The Wire !

I am connected to The Universe
Through a few distinct wires,
A few tiny tiny little nerves
That bend and twist and swerve;
That wind into my being and serve
Me light !
& Oh Boy does the light know
Which memory cells to pick,
Which images to mix and match and kick
Into my mind's eye !
I am wired to the universe
Like the flower is wired to the stem.
A dew drop wired to the eternal sea,
That has forever flowed through eternity
Exists to prove my point again.
And a Lion sitting in his Den
Could never have meditated,
Like I have upon this Zen.
Oh Winding River, Maddened Sea,
Drunken urban street lights hidden in me:
What does this mighty light seek ?
Why does it seek to peek
Into my hills and valleys?
Why does it shine its torch
Into the darkest cave ?
Is it to release the slave
Within the shadow ?
