CHOICE

All these living things

I see!

All these knots

of energy!

The bird that

Spreads its wings

And the buzzing bee,

The virgin girl with her things

And the prostitute at tea,

Not one chose to be

The substance that they be!

From the eternity

Behind their birth

Did they come!

With laughter and with mirth

Lacking in knowledge and in girth

Steadily do they walk

To an eternity and a destiny

Where their bodies

Are filled with earth!

All these little souls

Covered with substance!

Playing a game with each other

Playing a game without a goal

And the little distance

That they cover

Makes them feel they’re the power

The giver of death and life

What choice of his

To be born a man!

He may choose to be a millipede if he can!

But each feel

In death their damned

Was the choice theirs?

Or was it part of a greater plan!

The Other Side

What exists there
where vision cannot see
what existed before
where memory cannot be
what was I, what was me?

Silently I try to peek
to the other side
where death so does seek
to one day take me
I know there will be peace
and the little tremors
of soul will decease
silent, steady like a still pond
will my soul be

There the moon will not walk
like a law in second gear
and death will not stalk
every little child's fear
and the rain will not pour
like the heavens weaving tears
No! There will be peace.

For the heavens did turn!
And I existed.
So shall they turn again
And surely shall I go
To God! The other side!
and gardens.................
where the rivers flow.

Nature Has a Soul

When the moon shines
in the night
and the bat
comes out to flight
or the dew
sparkles bright
reflecting the light
of the sun
does one
not feel
that nature has a soul!

When soldiers go out to fight
and mighty nations show their might
and death doesn't bring fright
anymore
or
when the saint stills time
and when hours, minutes, seconds drop
to the rhyme
of his inner being
or
seeing a million creatures worship
a beautiful rythm in nature
does one
not feel
that nature has a soul!
